The Espanola Express are excited to announce 2 returning players from last season. Returning for their second year with the Express are 1 forward and 1 defenceman.
“We are more than happy to have these guys coming back as vets for this season”, claimed GM Chad Clarke. “With a season under their belts we expect them to come in and be strong players for us from the get-go”‘ added Clarke.
Our first returning forward announcement is 1998 birth year Matthew Reynolds. Wearing #19 last season, the Bowmanville native put up 16 points in 36 games. As a late addition Matt adapted well, with a strong finish scoring 7 of his 16 points in the last 6 games. We expect Matt to pick up right where he left off and to continue to be an offensive threat for the Express. The 6’00” 185lbs forward is looking forward to getting the season started and returning to Espanola for his final junior season.
Also returning to Espanola for the upcoming 2017-2018 season will be fan favorite, tough nosed, gritty defenceman, #6 Leo Mihalo. The Montreal Qc. native made a name for himself last season in the NOJHL with his bone crushing hits and his gritty style of play. Leo has been working incredibly hard on and off the ice this summer to prepare for the season. The Express also expect Leo to come back and pick up where he left off and be a steady reliable defenceman for the upcoming year. With his 6’3″ 215lbs frame, fans will remember quickly why they liked him so much last season.
