ESPANOLA, Ont. – Josh Norman and Caleb Serre both notched two goals apiece to help the Blind River Beavers skate to a 6-1 road victory over the Espanola Express in a Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League contest Friday at the Regional Recreation Complex.
A quick three-tally outburst, just over four minutes apart, in the opening frame helped send Blind River on their way thanks to markers by Norman, Serre and Eric Leblanc.
Espanola did get one of those back before the first period was complete as Tristan Poissant’s power play goal at 19:14 gave the home side some momentum heading into the second.
It that middle stanza however, the Beavers’ Zach Senecal added to the visitors’ lead midway through the session as he connected during a man advantage chance.
Blind River then secured the win in the third on markers from Norman and Serre to round out the scoring.
Jack Rudin had three assists for the Beavers while Senecal had a pair and Serre supplied one as the trio all boasted three-point nights.
The Beavers’ outshot the Express 51-28 on the night with Cam Bruggrabe picking up the win with Ryan Hale suffering the setback.
