On September 10th the Espanola Express joined Blake Bond a childhood cancer fighter in a flag raising ceremony at the Espanola Town Hall. The ceremony is to bring awareness to Childhood Cancer. Blake who is a nine year old Espanola native and Express fan has recently undergone a bone marrow transplant to fight the leukemia at Toronto’s Sick Kids Hospital.
Facts about Childhood Cancer 1% of all cancers in Canada are childhood, the five ear survival for child hood cancer is 83% and the childhood cancer death rate has be cut in half since 1985.
