NOJHL names its October BrokerLink Insurance Players of the Month

SUDBURY, Ont. – The Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League (NOJHL) announced Friday that Lucas Signoretti (Greater Sudbury Cubs); Luke Hill (Espanola Paper Kings); Noah Beaulne (Greater Sudbury Cubs) and Alex Povorozniouk (Soo Eagles) have been named its BrokerLink Insurance Forward; Defenceman; Goaltender and Rookie of the Month, respectively, for October.

FORWARD: Lucas Signoretti, Greater Sudbury Cubs – Collecting points in all but one game he skated in last month, Signoretti’s efforts helped Greater Sudbury win every contest they played, going a perfect 9-0 during the time frame.

The 20-year-old from Kanata, Ont., tallied nine times and dished out seven assists along the way. He also produced five multi-point efforts in October.

Two of Signoretti’s tallies were game-winners, as he increased his overall league-best in this department to five.

DEFENCEMAN: Luke Hill, Espanola Paper Kings – Reaching double digits in points over the period, Hill supplied a dozen in 10 outings to pace all NOJHL defencemen.

Hailing from Trent Lakes, Ont., the 18-year-old blueliner scored three times and helped set-up nine others for the Paper Kings.

Hill enters November sitting second in offensive production among league rearguards with 14 points in 16 match-ups, trailing only teammate Aiden Pethick’s 16.

GOALTENDER: Noah Beaulne, Greater Sudbury Cubs –
 A stellar month saw Beaulne come away victorious in each of his six starts during the period.

Along with his 6-0 record, the 20-year-old Hanmer, Ont., product provided a solid 1.50 goals-against average, along with a .934 save percentage, and two shutouts.

Leading all NOJHL netminders in wins this season with eight, Beaulne boasts a career league mark of 45-7-2-1-1 in 61 overall appearances with the Cubs.

ROOKIE: Alex Povorozniouk, Soo Eagles – An impressive October saw Povorozniouk amass a co-NOJHL-best 16 points for the Eagles, in 10 contests taken part in.

The 18-year-old forward from McHenry, Illinois, scored three times, including notching a game-winner, and neatly assisted on 13 other goals for the Michigan Soo.

His solid month saw Povorozniouk move into a tie for top spot in NOJHL rookie scoring with 19 total points.
