Roschinsky commits to Aurora University

After playing the last 2 seasons in Espanola for the Express, fan favorite Aaron Roschinsky has officially committed to play NCAA DIII hockey next season for Aurora University.

“I am very excited about the chance to play hockey at Aurora University in the fall. I am very grateful that I have the opportunity to continue my hockey career, but also further my education at such a great school,” expressed Roschinsky.

Aaron won the fans in Espanola over with his style of play as a gritty scoring power forward. He quickly became a favorite for his work on and off the ice. His dedication to the community and the young children who looked up to him as a role model was incredible to see. Aaron was never shy to talk with the fans, sign an autograph or help someone out wherever he could and he truly made himself a community member.

“The past two years playing hockey in Espanola has been one of the best experiences of my life. I could not think of a better place to have finished my junior career. The support that myself and the hockey team received from the town is unmatched, and I could not be more thankful for that,” added Roschinsky.

Aaron truly came a long way, both on and off the ice in his tenure with Espanola. His work ethic is incredible and he is living proof that hard work pays off. Aaron could be found at the gym every day working out, practiced hard, played harder and dedicated himself to hockey so he could achieve his dreams of playing NCAA hockey. All the effort and hard work landed him a commitment to advance to the next level and play university hockey, while gaining an education at the same time.

“I would like to thank my coaches and management for giving me the chance to continue my hockey career after juniors at Aurora University. Without them I wouldn’t be where I am today,” commented Roschinsky.”

The Canton Michigan native will now take his talents to Aurora Illionois to play for the Spartans this coming 2017-2018 season. As a player he will be missed in Espanola, but his legacy will never be forgotten.

“Aaron is an incredible young man, that I can not say enough good things about,” commented Express GM Chad Clarke.

“He gave 100% to everything he did on and off the ice and he really deserves his rewards today. He is a classic example of hard work and determination paying off. We couldn’t be happier for Aaron and I truly believe Aurora is getting an amazing young man who will be very successful in his future endeavors,” added Clarke.

When asked about his experience in Espanola, Aaron had this to say.

“Living and playing hockey in Espanola has been a great blessing and I am proud to say I played for the Express. Again, I’d like to thank everyone that has had an impact on my life from Espanola, and I’m happy I can call it home. I cant thank my wonderful billets Steve and Laurie enough for making me feel like I was at home for the past two years.”
